The Sybaritic String Band

Festival du Bois 2020 opens with its fourth annual Friday Night Contra Dance, featuring live music from The Sybaritic String Band, Vancouver’s premier contradance band. Contra dancing is fun and friendly social dancing done in lines of couples to traditional music played live. The dance caller, Maureen Collier, will teach "figures" on the spot, like in square dancing, and will prompt you during the dance. It's easy! Come on your own or bring a partner and have a great time! Everyone, from first-timers to seasoned veterans are welcome! 

Suitable for adults and kids who are comfortable dancing with adults.
