YOUTH ZONE

Calling kids of all ages!

The Youth Zone is a special area of the Festival that’s full of great things for kids and families to do. Get your face painted courtesy of Conseil Scolaire francophone – École des Pionniers de Maillardville, then enjoy a fun performance in the Petit Chapiteau (Children’s Tent). There's lots more to do on site, including stopping by the Sugar Shack for some maple taffy on snow.

To all parents! With the contribution of our partner IKEA, we are pleased to provide you with a changing and nursing room for your little ones in the Petit Chapiteau.

Ginalina

Gina Lam, a.k.a. Ginalina, is a 2016 JUNO Children’s Album of the Year nominee for Forest Friends’ Nature Club Album, her collection of bilingual “family folk music” tunes inspired by weekly walks and nature lessons with her four kids in Pacific Spirit Park. For example, one day the group came across a robin limping through the brush. As the kids discussed what may have happened to the bird and brainstormed creative ways to help it, a song was born - and nine months later “Hey Robin” began streaming online on CBC Kids Radio.

Ginalina is passionate about finding beauty in the ordinary moments and connecting people, one fun song at a time. Her vision is to create excellent, engaging and enriching music for the whole family. On stage, she makes a genuine connection with audiences or all ages, singing and telling stories that are gentle, joyful, inspirational and totally magical! Faces light up when she tells her stories through song.

Will's Jams

Will's Jams is children's musician Will Stroet, a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter, CBC Kids TV star, educator and dad who creates multilingual music that ignites imagination and motivates movement for the young and young-at-heart. Drawing from his own experiences, Will creates songs and stories that entertain the whole family. Through witty wordplay and catchy choruses, Will inspires kids to be active, healthy, creative, community-minded and engaged in the world through educational music in English and French.

Expect Will and his band to deliver a show full of fun actions, jokes and high-energy rock-pop tunes with sing-along choruses. They’ll perform fan favourites as seen on CBC Kids TV, along with new songs from his 11th album, Big Shiny Spoons. Kids will be cheering for libraries, loving their bikes, rallying for vegetables - and dancing away!
